I saw the first episode in Japanese, without subtitles, so I do not know the name. She goes to school to learn to be an astronaut. Her mother died in an accident involving a space ship and lives with his father.

Futatsu no Spica. This is the name of the show.
It is a story of five young people how to train them to become astronauts. Asumi, whose father, a rocket designer, is interested in the room and joined the School of astronaut training after high school. Asumi work hard to intense competition and the support of his classmates to become an astronaut.
